The product is light yellow or red-brown oily liquid; it will gradually turn into brown color when it is exposed to sunlight or air. The density of the product is 0.987-0.994g/cm3, the melting point is -57, the boiling point is 196, 156 (250mm Hg), 86 (15 mm Hg) and 79.2 (10 mmHg). It is soluble in the organic solvents such as ethanol,  and chloroform while it is insoluble in water.

APPLICATION:

N-Methylaniline (NMA) was used in the preparation of self-assembled poly(N-methylaniline)-lignosulfonate (PNMA-LS) composite spheres with reactive silver-ion adsorbability. NMA was also used in electrodeposition of poly(N-methylaniline) (PNMA) coatings on a steel disc electrode using potentiodynamic, potentiostatic and galvanostatic techniques.
